Understanding Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentists require more training because good dental care from the time you are young is vital for ideal tooth development. Sprout Pediatric Dentists need four years of dental school and an additional two to three years of residency specializing in age groups spanning from infants to teens. Becoming a pediatric dentist is no easy task because giving a child the proper oral healthcare is no easy task. At Sprout, we rise to the challenge of providing kids the best dental care available because it’s what we signed up for! Why did we sign up? Because treating kids is our passion.

The oral cavity or “mouth” is so much more than teeth. Dr. Amanda hopes to educate you and your child in order to prevent future problems and detect and treat problems as early as possible! 75% of facial growth has occurred by early elementary school. If unfavorable issues negatively affect this growth, it can have several consequences: sleep-disordered breathing, mouth breathing, crowded/crooked teeth, and ADHD-type symptoms.
